One of the few downsides of co-sleeping: Lil K fell off the bed last night at 2 am. Luckily, as a friend once said, when they fall "toddlers bounce." A minute of crying and she was back to sleep. You never like to wake up in the middle of the night to the thud of your baby hitting the floor head first though. Ugh.
Hubby took Lil K to the park yesterday where she met other children playing. There was a little boy, slightly younger than her, who was playing unattended. Hubby thinks his mom might have been one of a group of ladies chatting away, not really watching her toddler.
He was sitting on the jungle gym putting things in his mouth. When Lil K saw that he has a rock in his mouth she scolded him, "no no no! Out!" pointing at his mouth. He looked at her briefly with a defiant look, then complied.
That story makes me laugh but also makes me wonder if Lil K might have saved that boy from possibly choking on that rock!
Who knew a toddler could get attached to a notebook? Lil K wanted to sleep with a spiral bound Hello Kitty notebook but I took it away, assuring her that she could play with it in the morning. (Wire coil and hard, thick, pointy cover -- not a good bedfellow.) She cried and told daddy, "Daddy, miss (my) paper. Mommy take Hello Kitty paper away!" When I asked her why she needed the notebook, she replied, "pillow." She wanted to use it as a pillow. Huh?
